Auto-Save & Auto-Backup¶
Nobody likes to lose their progress, and that's why this system exists. The auto save system allows you to have your project save automatically.
Locate These Settings¶
Step 1: Auto-save and auto-backup settings are located under project settings. From within the CYOA editor, click the settings cog in the top left-hand corner of the screen.
Step 2: Then navigate to the bottom of the right pane for a section titled "File Settings". Here you will find all the settings you need.
Auto-Save¶
When enabled, the system automatically save your project based on the set frequency. It is recommended you use Auto-Save with Auto-Backup to minimize the chances of data loss form accidental deletion, or file corruption.
Auto-Save Frequency¶
The number of seconds between each auto-save. Note, this property remains hidden until the Auto-Save property is enabled.
Example
3600 = 1 Hour
600 = 10 minutes
Auto-Backup¶
When enabled, the system will back-up the current save to a separate file based on the frequency. This will allow you to recover your data in the event of a corrupted or accidental save. When using auto-save with auto-backup, it is recommended, to have auto-save occur more frequently than auto-backup.
Auto-Backup Frequency¶
The number of seconds between each auto-backup.
Example
3600 = 1 Hour
600 = 10 minutes
Auto-Backup Max¶
The maximum number of auto-backup files which can be created. Once this number is exceeded, older files will be overwritten.
